The Rhythm of Tap

Tap dancing is a way of making music with your feet! It started about 300 years ago when people from different cultures blended their favorite dances together. Long ago, people even used rocks and sticks to help make the rhythms. Today, tap dancers wear special shoes with metal plates on the bottom that make a loud "click-clack" sound every time they hit the floor. Some famous dancers, like Dulé Hill, started learning how to tap when they were only 3 years old! Learn more!
