The Mountain-Climbing Sprout

Problem illustration

Most people climb mountains using their feet, but Stuart Kettell had a different idea. He decided to push a single Brussels sprout all the way to the top of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales! To make it even harder, he used only his nose to push the sprout. It took him 3 days of crawling and pushing to reach the summit, which is 1,085 metres high. He did it all to raise money for charity! Learn more!

Wee Ones

Stuart pushed the sprout for 3 days. If he had to push it for 1 more day, how many days would that be? Count on from 3!

Little Kids

The mountain is 1,085 metres high. Is that number closer to 1,000 metres or 2,000 metres?

Big Kids

Stuart wanted to raise £5,000 for charity. If he has already raised £4,950, how many more pounds does he need to reach his goal?

The Sky's the Limit

Snowdon is 1,085 metres high. If Stuart has pushed his sprout exactly 20% of the way to the top, how many metres has he traveled?
